One of the major fundraising events for the museum is the annual Low Country Boil. This event is very popular with the community and travelers in the area at that time. Participants enjoy a delicious meal as they spend time with friends and family.
The Oyster Roast has become a sell-out year after year. The number of tickets sold is limited so that everyone who attends gets plenty of oysters, hot dogs, chili, and sweets.
The Victorian Tea has been a favorite of our members. In addition to the fabulous food and tea, there have been entertainers, fashion shows, and the ability to view the museum. Ladies of all ages enjoy these very special Teas.
The museum sponsors a Country Store and Bake Sale in conjunction with the Town events. The museum’s volunteers are simply the best cooks. They are busy all year preparing for this event which features probably the largest variety of homemade jams & jellies you could hope for; as well as mouth-watering baked goods such as cakes, pies, and cookies.
The museum loves to throw a party for its members. Typically these parties are held in conjunction with an Exhibit Opening or other events that are worthy of such celebration.
