The major fundraising event for the museum is the annual Low Country Boil and Auction. This event is very popular with the community and travelers in the area at the time of this event. Participants enjoy a delicious meal, dance to the music, and get great deals on auction items.
A Victorian Tea is held approximately once a year. One was a ladies only tea, one was a Mother-Daughter Tea, and one was a Victorian Christmas Tea which was so popular that another Victorian Christmas Tea will be held this year. In addition to the fabulous food, there are fashion shows, special holiday purchases, and the ability to view and enjoy the museum which is decorated for Christmas.
The museum sponsors a Country Store once a year in the fall of the year. This is held on a Saturday in conjunction with the Town’s Fall Festival. The museum’s volunteers are simply the best cooks. They are busy all year preparing for this event which features probably the largest variety of homemade jams, jellies, preserves that you could hope for; mouth watering baked goods; pickles; etc.
The museum loves to throw a party for it’s members. Typically these parties are held in conjunction with an Exhibit Opening or other events that are worthy of such celebration.
Upcoming Special Events will be listed in the Calendar of Events.
